Qualifications for the Particular Retirement Supplement
- There is no comparable scheme under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS); instead,
- you must be registered in the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) as a state or federal employee.
- You need to be retired normally and immediately: You can meet your minimum retirement age (MRA) after 30 years of creditable service, or you can reach age 60 after 20 years of creditable service.
Special considerations for military reserve technicians, air traffic controllers, law enforcement officials, and firemen - When members of Congress reach the minimum retirement age, or later the Senior Executive Service minimum retirement age for members of the FBI and DEA Senior Executive Service, Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service, and Senior Cryptologic Executive Service; or
